Dead Cool is a Wilmington, North Carolina based duo whose punk-rock roots evolved into a darker, synth-driven sound. Since the pandemic they’ve embraced synthesizers and crafted a moody blend of darkwave and goth-leaning synthpop that’s atmospheric yet unexpectedly fun, energetic, and built to engage a crowd.

We got a chance to meet Angela and Johnny before their performance at Absolution Fest 2025. Later that month, Chris and Vanessa sat down with them to discuss how the band started, trading guitar and bass for synthesizers, their latest single "Story of Another Life", and how they convert their electronic sound into a live performance.
